Mark D. Weingarten, M.D.
Some Saturdays 9-1
Rochester Eye Care now has a new test to diagnose dry eye and help manage the condition. The test is called the Tearlab® Osmolarity Test. During this test, Dr. Weingarten takes a tiny tear sample from the patient’s eye and measures the salt content in the tears. This measurement reflects the health and stability of the protective tear film that covers the surface of eyes.
Dry eye patients may experience symptoms such as stinging, burning, a scratchy sensation, sensitivity to light, tearing, tired eyes, difficulty wearing contact lenses and blurred vision. Individuals who are experiencing any of these symptoms should contact Rochester Eye Care by calling (248) 650-2255, so Dr. Weingarten can test their tear osmolarity.
Aside from diagnosing and treating dry eye, Dr. Weingarten also uses leading-edge equipment to diagnose refractive errors in the eye, and treat cataracts patients in Detroit and Rochester Hills, MI.
